After fleeing Ukraine, traitor president Viktor Yanukovych has appeared in public extremely rarely. The former president of Ukraine now resides in the aggressor state of Russia, possesses a new “Mezhyhirya,” and even a new passport name.
This was reported by investigative journalists from the YouTube channel “Toronto Television.”
The Traitor’s New Home — Sochi
The author of the investigation, Anatoliy Ostapenko, stated that by analyzing Russian state registries, leaked databases, flight details, phone numbers, and social media posts, it was determined that Yanukovych now uses documents under the name Oleg Mykolayovych Leonov.
Furthermore, the fugitive has acquired a new luxury residence in Sochi. This property is under round-the-clock fortified security provided by officers of the Federal Protective Service of the Russian Federation.
Yanukovych Has Enriched Himself Anew
During his escape from Ukraine, Yanukovych greedily transported as much of his property as possible. However, the former president lost his real estate in Ukraine. Nevertheless, over the years, his family has accumulated luxurious apartments, private estates, and hundreds of hectares of land.
The primary locations for these assets include Sochi, Moscow, and the Moscow Oblast. The property is registered to Yanukovych’s closest circle: his common-law wife Lyubov Polezhay, stepdaughter Mariya Sadikova, son Oleksandr Yanukovych, and daughter-in-law.

Incidentally, on January 30, 2026, the U.S. Department of Justice released documents known as the Epstein files, which include numerous mentions of Ukraine and Ukrainian politicians. Among the over 3 million pages of documents, the name of former fugitive president Viktor Yanukovych appears 47 times.
It should be noted that in March 2026, amidst the military operation by the United States and Israel against Iran, Russian political and business elites began an urgent evacuation from the Middle East. Elite business jets are being used for return to Moscow, including a jet directly associated with former fugitive president Viktor Yanukovych.
As a reminder, in September 2025, Russian propaganda media unexpectedly “unearthed” former fugitive president Viktor Yanukovych and showed his video address.
Journalist and publicist Vitaliy Portnikov explained why the Russian Federation “unearthed” Yanukovych. He noted that the Kremlin did not “dig up” the long-forgotten Yanukovych for no reason — with this statement, the Russian Federation wants to show Ukrainians that pro-Russian forces were supposedly not so bad after all.
