The Restoration Service is carrying out reconstruction efforts on the T-24-09 highway, a crucial transit route linking the M-03 Kyiv-Kharkiv highway to southern regions and serving as a key transportation and logistical artery for the left-bank areas of Cherkasy Oblast.
This update was shared by the Restoration Agency, according to Ukrinform.
“Due to heavy traffic strain, certain sections of the road are in subpar condition. Overall, the highway requires repairs across nearly its entire length. Approximately 50,000 m² of restoration work is needed at this site,” states the report.
It adds that reconstruction on the T-24-09 began in June of this year. These efforts aim to enhance road safety, improve military logistics, and address requests from drivers to upgrade the route’s condition.
Teams have already eliminated hazardous potholes using hot asphalt mix and jet methods across 7,000 m², installed traffic signs, trimmed tree branches, and reinforced roadside shoulders.
Separately, construction continues on an overpass along the M-05 Kyiv-Odesa international highway near the capital. The Restoration Agency notes the future tunnel-style structure will include access ramps and a circular interchange, forming part of the first phase of a two-level transport hub. Over 90% of this project is now complete.
Earlier, the Restoration and Infrastructure Development Service in Kyiv Oblast addressed 12,600 m² of potholes on regional roads.
